We understand that furry friends are part of the family, and often make great travel companions. Therefore, we allow all housebroken pets to travel with you in style. Just inform us when making the reservation so we can make sure you are assigned to a fido-friendly van in the fleet.
We realize that people with allergies can be very sensitive to pet dander, so we have designated certain vans in our fleet to be either “pet-free” or “pet-friendly.”
*Please note that renters are responsible for any damage caused by the pet, and to avoid cleaning charges, vans should be returned clean and free of pet hair including our pet-friendly vans.
We love our animals and their well-being is very important to us. Here are some tips to keep your furry friends safe when traveling:
- Make sure your pet is safely contained in a well-ventilated crate or in a safety harness attached to a buckle.
- Don’t leave your pet alone in the van. Even with the windows down, cars and vans can heat up surprisingly quickly. In cold weather, a vehicle can act as a refrigerator, and become drastically cold. In addition, pet’s collars and harnesses may get stuck on the interior parts of the van causing them to panic.
- When traveling across state-lines or to Mexico or Canada, make sure to bring a copy of your pet’s vaccination records as it might be required. While records aren’t always necessary to travel between states, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
- Make sure your pet has a microchip and tag on his/her collar for identification.
- Bring your own water for your pet. Obtaining drinking water from a different area might cause tummy issues.
- We recommend that your bring a towel or sheet as a seat covering to reduce the hassle of cleaning pet-hair from the upholstery.
- Bring a tarp or towel to put under a crate for easier clean-up of potential messes.
